Passers - 7 & 8 Year Olds
Passers
Passers is a recreational league for boys and girls who are turning 7 and 8 years old in the calendar year. All practices and games will be held at the Englewood Soccer Complex at Ward field on Hoke Rd in Englewood. Practice days/times are held at the volunteer coaches' preference, and could be once or twice a week. All games will be played on Saturdays and/or Sunday with the possibility of a weekday through the course of the season. At the passers level, we try our best to separate the boys and girls into different leagues, however low registration numbers will force us to combine the divisions into a coed league.
Equipment needed to play: ball, cleats with no toe spike, shin guards and socks long enough to cover shin guards. We highly encourage bringing a water bottle, or you can buy one at the concession stand during games.

RULES OF THE GAME:
- Heading is not allowed in 7v7 games. If a player heads the ball in a game, whether deliberately or accidentally, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense.
- When the goalkeeper has the ball in his or her hands during play from the opponent, the opposing team must move behind the build-out line until the ball is put into play. Once the opposing team is behind the build-out line, the goalkeeper can pass, throw, or roll the ball into play (punts and drop kicks are not allowed). After the ball is put into play by the goalkeeper, the opposing team can cross the build-out line, and play resumes as normal.
- If a goalkeeper punts or drop kicks the ball, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense.
- The opposing team must also move behind the build-out line prior to a goal kick and may only cross the build-out line once the ball is kicked and clearly moved. However, the goalkeeper can put the ball into play sooner but he or she does so accepting the positioning of the opponents and the consequences of how play resumes.
- Referees should be flexible when enforcing the 6-second rule.
- There will be no direct free kicks in this league. All free kicks will be indirect from the spot of the foul except those that occur inside the penalty box. If a penalty occurs in the penalty box, an indirect free kick will be awarded and the free kick will be from on the PK line.
